Course Selection Presentation Sophomores — Tuesday, 1/27 CLP and TCP Sophomores will attend a presentation with Student Services during HQ on Tuesday, January 27 to start their course request process for the 26/27 school year. An email will be sent out on Tuesday with more details.
Course Selection Deadline for Juniors — Wednesday, 1/28 CLP and TCP Juniors, don’t forget to input your course requests into Synergy and turn in your Course Request Forms (with parent signatures) to your HQ teacher this Wednesday, January 28. You will go over these requests with your Academic Advisor during your pre-scheduled individual meeting between February 5 and February 9. Please see the email sent out on January 20 with your specific appointment time.
Course Selection for PLP Students (all grades) For the next few weeks PLP students will meet with their Mentor Teachers to select their online courses for the 26/27 school year. An email will be sent out on Tuesday with more details.

College Visit: Grand Canyon University GCU will be hosting a special information meeting for all newly admitted students, as well as students who are interested in learning more about the university. The meeting will take place on the second floor of the Project Next Building, room D-202, during lunch from 12:40 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28. Students are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy it while attending the presentation.

Grade 12 Palomar Promise — Complete Before March 2 Current seniors are eligible to apply to the Palomar Promise. These are the requirements to be eligible for Palomar Promise: Apply to Fall 2026 Palomar, Complete the Palomar Promise Application, Complete the FAFSA, Enroll in a minimum of 12 units. Here is the handout to help with the application process. Students need to take at least 12 units of classes and receive a 2.0 or higher GPA to stay eligible for Palomar Promise. This will provide two years of free junior college. If students want to apply to another community college in California (MiraCosta, Cuyamaca, etc), all of them provide two free years for California residents, but they will have their own application process. Please reach out to your Academic Advisor if you need help.
San Diego Foundation Scholarships The San Diego Foundation offers a wide variety of scholarships and is a fantastic local resource for San Diego seniors. By filling out one "Common Application," you can access over 150 different scholarship opportunities with awards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. The application opens this week on Wednesday, January 14, and the deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m. You can review the 2026-2027 Scholarship Criteria list

Shakespeare Club The Shakespeare Club is excited to perform Shakespeare's underrated gem, The Two Gentlemen of Verona on Friday, January 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the American Spirit Theater! (Admission is free.) In this play, the friendship of Valentine and Proteus is tested by a love triangle, betrayal and filled to the brim with the witty banter Shakespeare is known for.
